US state of Tennessee may see an airport named after
country star and Dolly Parton.
State Governor Bill Lee is pushing to name Nashville's
international airport after Parton, who died from cancer
this week.
The news came after legions of fans signed an online petition
to rename the airport after the legend, who was born in
the rural parts of the state, but later moved to Nashville.
The petition was originally launched in January 2025, but
gained momentum following her death and had gathered
nearly 160,000 signatures by Friday evening.
