150 people arrested in joint operation against air drug trafficking

The Customs and Excise Department arrested 150 air passengers on suspicion of trafficking drugs within a four-month period this year. The suspected seized drugs has an estimated market value of 1.4 billion dollars.

The suspected drugs include cocaine, ketamine and cannabis buds. Between May and August, Hong Kong Customs conducted an anti-drug operation with the mainland and overseas counterparts. The joint operation tackled 424 cases and arrested 150 people. More than 80% of suspects came from Asia.
