Murder case of Australilan and US surfers starts in Mexico

The parents of two Australian surfers killed alongside their American friend

attended a court session in Mexico.

Three men are accused of killing the three visitors in April 2024.

Debra and Martin Robinson travelled to the city of Ensenada in

Baja California for the murder trial of their sons Callum and Jake Robinson,

and American Jack Carter Rhoad.

The three friends were on a surfing trip along Mexico's Pacific coast

when they were attacked.

Their bodies were found several days later dumped in a cliff-top

shaft with gunshot wounds to their heads.

Authorities accused the suspects of attempting to steal

the surfers' truck before killing them.

The case sparked outrage in Australia and the US, where relatives

and friends mobilised a major search on social media after

the three's disappearance.
