5 dead, 87 missing in Philippines ferry fire

At least five people died while 87 others remain missing after a fire broke out in a passenger ferry in waters near Coron in the Philippines' western Palawan province that departed from Manila., the Philippine Coast Guard said on Thursday.

Among the 134 people on board, including 117 passengers and 17 crew, 42 had been rescued thus far, coast guard spokeswoman Commodore Noemie Cayabyab says, as search continues.
