The Trump administration proposes axing grace period for H-1B
visa holders should they lose their jobs.
Currently, there is a 60-day buffer for skilled workers
to find a new job and new sponsor in the US.
This according to a government notice posted online on
Thursday.
The change could potentially be implement after a two-month
public consultation period.
The 60-day grace period was first introduced in 2017 to allow those who lose
their jobs time to find employment or to get their affairs in order
before exiting the country.
