Defense Minister warns against militarism

Defense Minister Dong Jun delivers the keynote speech at the opening

of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which has emerged as a counterpart

to the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.

This year's forum is attended by defence ministers from Indonesia, Vietnam,

Thailand and Singapore.

Dong calls for stronger global security governance, and warns against the

resurgence of militarism and historical revisionism.

He says "by rallying a broad coalition of forces for justice, we must

prevent the remnants of history from resurfacing, gaining momentum

and becoming a threat."

He also voices support for cooperation on artificial intelligence, outer space

and the deep sea, so that emerging technologies can better benefit

all humanity.
