US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says he will meet with
Chinese Vice President He Lifeng this weekend ahead
of a meeting between the leaders of the two countries next week.
Bessent told a hearing of the House Financial Services Committee
President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump will
discuss issues related to Iran, including China's financial links
to Tehran.
Bessent maintains the US have had good private discussions
with China and he looks forward to those continuing when
meeting with He.
Reuters claimed last week that Iran had bypassed sanctions
on its oil sales and bartered with China for good including
military gear.
Trump brushed aside a report that Iran acquired satellite
images of a base in Jordan from Chinese entities
before an attack that killed American troops.
