Police arrest a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murdering his wife. The 53-year-old woman was found dead at home on Wednesday.
A group of police arrived at Heng Fa Chuen on Wednesday night. Police say the 51-year-old husband turned himself in at Kowloon City Police Station at around 7:30pm, claiming to have murdered his wife at home. The force went to the unit and found a woman on the bed. Multiple knife injures were spotted on her neck and waist, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation shows the husband used a kitchen knife to attack his wife between the early hours and day time of Wednesday. The man is said to work in the IT field while the woman is a housewife. The couple has two sons studying in secondary school and university.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, the police say the husband owes a debt of more than a million dollars after taking part in high-risk investments. And his relationship with the family worsen.
It is understood the man brought his younger son to a relative's home in Kowloon City before heading to the police station. The suspect has no history of mental illness or family violence.
