NY major takes jab at White House media ban during Trump meeting

US President Donald Trump makes a detour to the mayoral residence in New York ahead of his address at the United Nations' annual General Assembly.

Talking to reporters after his sit down with the city's mayor Zohran Mamdani, Trump touts his personal achievements, specifically having stopped eight wars and brough about the best economic numbers 'in the history of the country.' Mamdani took the opportunity to address the cost of living, but not before taking a

jab at the recent qurrel between the president and several news outlets that have been banned access to the White House.

“I told the president that we're going to have all of the members of the press here on the lawn. And that is something that I believe in is everyone, no matter the opinion or the critique that we engage,” he says.

“Each day, millions of New Yorkers struggle to get by in a city where a decent life cost too much, or a future of possibility and prosperity feels forever, just one paycheck out of reach,” he furthers, “I will work with anyone, no matter what party they belong to, no matter how much you may disagree on other topics. Whoever has the power and the will to lift that weight off New Yorkers backs.
