High Court Begins Jury Selection for Abby Choi Murder Trial

The trial for socialite Abby Choi's murder case enters its fourth day at the High Court.

The court selects a nine-member jury by open ballot this morning. At least 100 potential jurors attend the hearing.

Five male jurors were selected before the lunch break, and the selection continues in the afternoon.

Deputy judge Brian Keith expects the trial will last for 40 days and may be extended. Jurors must reserve their time until December 2nd.

Three defendants, Choi's ex-husband, ex-brother-in-law and ex-father-in-law, are each charged with a count of murder. Prosecution says the three were suspected of killing Choi in a Tai Po village in February 2023. They are also charged with preventing the lawful burial of a body.
