Americans who moved to China express hope over Sino-US ties

As President Xi Jinping often underscores the importance of people-to-people exchanges in Sino-US relations, some Americans have moved to China to build their careers -- and even serve as "unofficial diplomats."

They include this man who came to China in 2015 and now teams up with his wife to run a production company, taking international audiences to understand the lesser-known sides of China.

He hopes dialogue between leaders of the two nations could help mend ties amid strained China-US relations in recent years.

Across the Pacific in Seattle, a US-China youth and student exchange group was set up by a Hong Kong native in 2015 having organised China trips for more than 2,000 American students.

The group received a letter from President Xi, expressing hope that more youths from both sides can work hand in hand to inject fresh momentum to China-US relations.
