New jury selected for murder trial of Abby Choi in High Court

A new nine-member jury comprising eight men and one woman has been selected for the murder trial of socialite Abby Choi.

The prosecution began to put forth its case immediately after, alleging Choi's former father-in-law Kwong Kau enlisted his two sons, Choi's ex-husband Alex Kwong and former brother-in-law Anthony Kwong, to murder and subsequently illegally dispose of the body of then 28-year-old Choi.

The prosecution lays out claims that they did so because Choi insisted on selling a 72-million-dollar flat the ex-father-in-law was residing in at the time.

The three defendants denied murder charges. The brothers pleaded guilty to preventing the unlawful burial of a body, while Kwong Kau entered a not guilty plea to that offence.

The High Court Trial is expected take eight weeks.

On February 21, 2023, the trio allegedly murdered Choi in Lung Mei Village in Tai Po.
