Day 2 of mainland's Golden Week, HK continues to receive travellers

On the second day of the National Day Golden Week holiday in mainland China, more tourists from up north travelled to Hong Kong.

At the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station in the morning, as many mainland holidaymakers arrived at the city, rail operator MTR set up fences near the elevators to maintain order.

Some 270,000 visitors reached Hong Kong on the first day of the week-long holidays.

One traveller says they deliberately avoided the first day of Golden Week with plans to visit Cheung Chau and Lamma Island, where Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat resides.

Also bustling with tourists is Canton Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, lined with luxury retail stores.
