National Day drone show tonight

A 15-minute drone performance was staged over Victoria Harbour to celebrate National Day.

2,026 drones formed the characters "77" mid-air to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Tributes too were paid to Hong Kong's first homegrown astronaut Lai Ka-ying alongside various Hong Kong landmarks.

Many spectators watched the show along the Hung Hom promenade.

The organizers originally planned to hold the show in two sessions but the first show was cancelled owing to the thunderstorm warning in effect at the time.
