A detached house at One Stanley in Stanley is reportedly suspected of having quality issues with its steel reinforcement bars.

An investigation by the Buildings Department found that the reinforcement bar configurations in certain floor slabs did not match the approved plans.

The Buildings Department says it attaches great importance to the incident and has been following up seriously since receiving the report. It dispatched personnel to conduct on-site inspections multiple times between June and September and is currently analysing the collected data. The inspection revealed that the protective layer of a beam on the lower ground floor lacked wire mesh configuration as required by the plans, and the steel reinforcement configuration in some floor slabs also differed from the plans.

The department notes that while no obvious danger has been posed, it considers the construction quality concerning and requiring follow-up. Letters have been sent to relevant parties, including the registered structural engineer and developer, requiring them to attend interviews to assist with the investigation and provide information. If any building professionals and contractors are found to have violated the Buildings Ordinance, prosecutions or disciplinary proceedings will be initiated.
