Former Hong Kong deputy to the National People's Congress Ng Hong-mun has died at the age of 100.

Chief Executive John Lee expressed his condolences, commending Ng for his contribution to patriotic education and for ensuring long-term prosperity in the city.

Born in Guangdong's Shantou in 1926, Ng served as principal at Pui Kiu Middle School for thirty years starting in 1958, and founded the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers in 1975.
