The US Trump Administration has banned AI startup DeepSeek from
civilian US government agencies, citing security concerns.
The ban applies to US federal civilian agency IT systems, including
third-party products and services developed using the Chinese company's
technology.
Artificial intelligence has emerged as a key battle ground between
Washington and Beijing's race for technological dominance.
Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Mao Ning said China will resolutely
safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its firms.
She said China consistently opposes the over-generalisation of
national security as well as the politicisation of science,
technology and trade issues.
