A survey found that nearly 90% of eczema patients relapsed within half a year after initial treatment.
An eczema concern group interviewed 350 patients and caregivers through an online questionnaire in April.
It found 86% of respondents suffered a relapse within six months, and nearly 40% experienced more than six relapses.
The survey also showed over 80% of patients used moisturizers, topical steroids, or non-steroidal creams for treatment.
Less than 10% opted for advanced specialist care.
The organisation advised patients who are severely affected to proactively discuss advanced treatment options with their doctors early.
