Hong Kong Records Warmest October

Hong Kong experienced its warmest October on record.

The Hong Kong Observatory said the city's averagemaximum temperature reached 30.5 degrees Celsius last month.

The average temperature was 27.6 degrees, and the average minimum temperature was 25.8 degrees.

All three figures broke the highest October records since 1884.

The observatory said Hong Kong faced a very strong El Nino event.

A weaker-than-normal northeast monsoon and a stronger anticyclone affecting southern China also contributed to the warmest October.
