HK FinTech Week opens: CE announces 1st 5 year plan

Hong Kong FinTech Week kicks off its two-day event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.

Delivering his opening speech, Chief Executive John Lee says the HKSAR Government had earlier announced its first Five-Year Plan, setting out a clear direction for the city to leverage its unique advantages and better integrate into and serve national development.

He adds the Northern Metropolis will establish a new development pattern of "finance in the South, and innovation and technology in the North."

If you believe that technology will define the future, if you believe that Asia will continue to drive global economic growth, and if you believe in the transformation taking place across China, then you must believe in Hong Kong's pivotal place in making it happen.
