Man arrested after suspected of crashing into HZMB inspection booth

A man was arrested on suspicion of furious driving and damaging an inspection booth on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Online footage showed several police cars as well as a traffic police officer attempting to stop a black private car.

Another video showed several officers arresting a man on Tuen Mun's Hoi Wong Road.

The arrested man's father, later identified as the private car's owner, subsequently arrived on site to assist police with their investigation.

Sources said the suspect was involved in a hit-and-run incident at Pat Heung in Yuen Long yesterday.

Authorities connected the vehicle with the one involved in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge crash at around 1 a.m., and arrested the motorist this morning.
