Kremlin confirms CIA director's visit in Moscow

The Kremlin confirms US CIA Director John Ratcliffe earlier travelled to Moscow for talks with Russian officials.

The visit marks a rare occasion of face-to-face discussions between Washington and Moscow amid the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov notes Ratcliffe did not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the latter was informed that the meeting was "on the intelligence agencies' level".

This after a US military transport aircraft was reported to have landed in Moscow's Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday before departing hours later.

A senior Ukrainian official said Washington had informed Kyiv about the American delegation's visit to the Russian capital, and urged the Ukrainians to temporarily suspend airstrikes for several days.
