The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department earlier had a dog from a Stanley restaurant impounded on Wednesday after confirming it as a "fighting dog". The canine is set to undergo a neuter procedure.

10-year-old Baobao was earlier taken away from the restaurant by AFCD personnel after the latter received complaints from locals of a suspected fighting dog in the venue. It is understood Baobao is a Staffordshire bull terrier.

Authorities demanded the dog's owner to properly train the canine, adding that it must be neutered before returning to its owner.

According to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or SPCA, neuter procedures could help reduce the aggressiveness of such animals.
