LegCo members tour new Huanggang Port building

Legislative Council President Starry Lee, along with a group of LegCo members, visited the new Huanggang Port building of Hong Kong port area, accompanied by Secretary for Security Chris Tang.

The delegation first gathered at the public transport interchange on the second floor, to receive a briefing from officials. They inspected the Hong Kong departure hall on fifth floor and the vehicle departure facilities on first floor.

Under the new arrangements, travellers heading to Shenzhen will first clear customs before proceeding to immigration clearance.

The port features 134 cooporative inspection e-channels and 68 manual counters, allowing travellers to present their documents just once to complete the entire departure process.

Tang said multiple tests and drills will be conducted at the port to ensure smooth operations, before liaising with Shenzhen to finalise the opening date.
