Upcoming Policy Address will reportedly announce community dining hall

The upcoming Policy Address will reportedly announce the establishment of "community dining halls" aimed to facilitate elderly and disabled residents.

They will be primarily operated by Integrated Children and Youth Services Centres and offer their services during off-peak hours.

This after the city's community living rooms is set to increase to 18 by the end of this year.

Reports say the new community dining hall will operate similarly to the one in Shek Pai Wan on Hong Kong Island.

There are currently around 139 venues in the city offering similar services, with some lawmakers stressing individuals running such dining halls are in need of financial support.
