Iran fires missiles in wake of US attacks

The Pentagon says it has concluded a new round of bombings against Iran in the seventh straight night that is intended to further degrade the country's military capabilities.

Iran's deputy foreign minister declares Tehran will cease fulfilling its obligations under an interim ceasefire memorandum signed last month.

Meanwhile, a man was executed in Iran for fatally shooting a security force member.

Iranian forces released video footage purportedly showing missiles launched in response to the US aerial strikes.

Authorities say the US incursion stretched into the southern, central and southwestern parts of the Iranian territory, as the two sides exchanged fire on infrastructure and military targets over control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported Saturday that at least three people were killed and eight wounded in the overnight US strikes in the southern province of Hormozgan.

Provincial authorities reported damages to the Shahid Mirzaei tunnel on the road from the port city of Bandar Abbas to Hajiabad County, as well as three bridges in Hormozgan.

Iranian officials say dozens died and hundreds of people were injured in the strikes in recent days.

The US military has also acknowledged several more servicemen sustained wounds.

The collapse of the MoU has left no clear end in sight to the war waged by the US and Israel in late February.

Iran's ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, accuses Washington of interpreting the 14-point deal contrary to its terms by resuming military action. He urges international condemnation to what he describes as a "reckless and aggressive" act.

Also on Saturday, a report by the judiciary's Mizan news agency indicates Iranian authorities have executed a man who was convicted of killing a member of the security forces during nationwide unrest.

Tehran has denied rights groups' accusation that they often rely on forced confessions obtained under torture to convict protestors.
