Fanling metal shack on fire, killing one

A man died after a fire broke out at a metal shack in Fanling in the early hours of Wednesday. Investigation shows that the fire was caused by a short circuit.

The video shows a towering column of smoke rising into the air. Firefighters continued to spray water at the charred metal shack to cool down the construction after the fire was put out.

Police received reports at around 4:31am, saying a massive blaze broke out at Ling Shan Tsuen, Fanling. Authorities evacuated 78 people in the process. A man was found dead at the scene.
