Moscow unleashes another wave of aerial bombardments on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure across Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The new assaults coincide with a successful Russian test firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile to the far-eastern Kura range in a demonstration of its nuclear deterrent.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the latest Russian strikes in his daily briefing and said the US had informed him about recent meetings that took place in Moscow.

Zelenskyy noted Russia had chosen a tactic of "escalating terror" and urged acceleration of interceptor production. He added Ukraine was also making progress against the enemy's naval activity and sought to block Novorossiysk and other Russian ports.

More than a dozen apartment buildings and storage depots in Kyiv were subjected to a second straight night of Russian drone barrage on Friday.

Flames and black smoke engulfed one warehouse used to store food products such as raisins and pastry fillings after the building was attacked by two Shahed drones.

In what the Ukrainian military called "a double tap," a second drone struck one location that targeted first responders deployed to the scene, killing one person and injuring two others.

Airstrikes also rocked the contested southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia Friday morning that resulted in a large fire at a shopping centre covering 14,000 square metres. Five people were reportedly injured.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed they had conducted a training launch of a solid-fuel, road-mobile intercontinental missile from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome to confirm the missile system's tactical, technical and flight characteristics.

The ministry stated the training warheads reached their designated area at the Kura range on Kamchatka Peninsula.
