China envoy warns of consequences at Palau meeting

China's envoy to the Pacific Islands nations warned of "consequences"

over the attendance of a Taiwan delegation at the Pacific Islands Forum

leaders' meeting in Palau.

Qian Bo tells reporters in the island nation's capital

Koror that China has serious concerns over the matter.

"There will always be consequences. I mean, this is objected by all," said Qian.

"So this, it should not have happened.

So we think it's very inappropriate to do so."
