US military renews attacks on three Iranian oil tankers at sea

American military says on Saturday they have struck three Iranian oil tankers after Navy warships were targeted with ballistic missiles. It comes a day after President Donald Trump says the US may hit Iranian nuclear site soon and calls the conflict "small potatoes."

Iran's foreign ministry calls the strikes a war crime and says consequences including an "economic warfare" will rest with the US and its allies.

The US Central Command releases footage purportedly showing the unladen M/T Kylo tanker that is downed in the Gulf of Oman.

Adm. Brad Cooper says they will not hesitate to defend American forces, and if necessary, destroy Iran's "limited and exposed oil fleet."

The Centcom says another tanker is struck off Iran's Kharg Island and the third one is struck near Jask, east of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's state broadcaster reports the attack of the two ships, saying their crews have evacuated. Later on Saturday, it claims Iran has responded by targeting three oil tankers and three American vessels.

A spokesperson with Iran's joint military command warns strikes against US military vessels will elevate if the US continues to interfere with Iranian shipping.

In Minab, south of Iran, a number of injured people recall the harrowing moments of a wedding blast in the coastal town of Kuhestak while they are receiving medical treatment from hospital beds.

One survivor says the explosions hit three times.

She furthers, "The blast hit me at the door of the living room, I thought I'd gone blind...I couldn't see anything. A lot of shrapnel were in my stomach and my lungs."

Another 13-year-old patient says she was on her way to the wedding with friends when the attack occurred, and they were all thrown and sustained severe injuries.

At least five people died and more than 60 wounded in the incident earlier in the week which Iranian authorities say was hit by American munition.

US Vice President J.D. Vance says an investigation is underway.
