CE says Five-Year Plan to provide public with better livelihood

Chief Executive John Lee says the Five-Year Plan

aims to provide residents with better livelihood

and will not alter Hong Kong's fundamental system.

Lee will announce

the city's first Five-Year Plan in Legislative Council at 11 am Wednesday,

followed by his fifth Policy Address.

Writing on newspapers,

Lee describes the plan's formulation as a "compressed" task

because the government had less than a year to work on it.

He stresses that the plan will not change Hong Kong's existing system,

including the rule of law and the adoption of Basic Law.

The Chief Executive says different sectors will take part in the plan,

and that he is confident that Hong Kong will enter

an even better chapter under the country's strong support.
