The observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 23.3 degrees Celsius this morning, marking the lowest temperature in the city since the start of autumn.
The temprature climbed gradually over the course of the night but many residents could still be seen wearing extra extra layers.
Owing to the effects of a northeast monsoon affecting Guangdong, the city will remain cool tomorrow morning with urban areas set to record a minimum temperature of 23 degrees, while the mercury will drop further by 2 or 3 degrees in the New Territories.
This as weather authorities expect warmer temperatures will return by the latter part of this week.
