US President Donald Trump puts forth his belated endorsement for Israeli

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just nine days ahead of elections.

Netanyahu is lobbying for voters to "listen carefully" to Trump.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday endorsed Israeli

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection, nine days before

Israel's parliamentary vote.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he was giving Netanyahu

his "Complete and Total Endorsement" in the upcoming election while describing him

as a "Great Warrior Prime Minister" and a key US partner in confronting Iran.

Trump said the United States might have to handle the task itself if Netanyahu

were not reelected.

In a video released by his Likud party, Netanyahu said Trump expressed

unequivocal support for him.

"The partnership between us that did so much together will continue in order

to complete in the next two years- maybe before then- the elimination of the Iranian

threat," Netanyahu said.

Trump and Netanyahu have been close allies and seemed more aligned than ever

in the wake of the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities in 2025.

But over the course of the eight-month war, the two's relationship has had its ups

and downs, notability with Trump criticising Israel's decision to attack key Iranian gas

fields, even going as far as calling his counterpart "crazy."

Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also thanked Trump for his endorsement.

He said there is only one person who can serve as prime minister, that person

being Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, young Isareli voters are split ahead of the national elections,

citing the October 7 attacks and a desire for change as deciding factors.

Israelis are set to vote October 27 in the first national

election since the Hamas attack on the country in 2023.

Recent polls showed Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party

taking the lead over Netanyahu's Likud, but neither political

bloc comes close to securing a parliamentary majority.
