1,500 residents tour new Huanggang Port before opening

Ahead of the opening of the new Huanggang Port building, the Home Affairs Department invites 1,500 residents from all 18 districts to tour the new facility.

Close to 180 residents from Sai Kung and Kwun Tong districts board buses arranged by the Transport Department at Lam Tin Interchange around 1pm to head to the border port.

The group tours the site for about one hour, with staff briefing them on port facilities and the joint clearance arrangement.

Sources say the new Huanggang Port building opens as early as October 12.

Some visitors say they plan to check the Wi-Fi speed inside the facility and share their feedback with local district councillors.
