Saudel lands again and edging towards Pearl River Delta

Under the combined effect of Saudel and the northeast monsoon, local winds are occasionally strong offshore and on high ground. The Standby Signal, No. 1 will remain in force today.

Saudel is moving across the inland areas of eastern Guangdong and weakening gradually. Saudel is expected to edge closer to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary tomorrow (4 September), but there are uncertainties in its degree of weakening.

Depending on the intensity of Saudel when it is close to the Pearl River Estuary, the distance of its associated strong winds from the Pearl River Estuary and the changes in local wind conditions, the Observatory will assess the need for issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 when it is close to the Pearl River Estuary.
